Friend In Crisis

Hey gang! It’s been a while since I’ve written anything here because I’ve just got so many irons in the fire that it can be hard to write consistently. But a friend came to me recently with a situation and I absolutely had to try to help.

My friend, who does not know that I am doing this because he would be mortified, is in crisis. This is a man I served with in Iraq, a man who helped me get through some of my lowest moments by being there with a joke and a smile, and sometimes just quiet support. And now he needs help. His wife left him, and when she did, she informed him that she had not been paying the mortgage. The house is in his name, but I guess the way they divided up expenses made it her responsibility. He’s now nearly a year behind on his mortgage and trying to figure out how he can keep his house while also dealing with the emotional turmoil of a failed marriage.

I made a GoFundMe for him in hopes that I can help alleviate some of the financial burden he’s facing. He doesn’t know I’m doing this (the Army really beats the “asking for help” out of us), but once it’s at a manageable number I want to give it to him. Any help that anyone can give would be amazing.
