Recharge
Hey gang! It’s good to be back, sorry for disappearing for a week. The last couple of weeks have been pretty crazy, there were several shows and lots to do, and writing kind of fell by the wayside. In the past week I got to do a show with America’s Got Talent finalist Ryan Niemiller, and the following day I went to my favorite club in the country, The Drop Comedy Club in South Bend, Indiana. My friend Tyson was hosting, and he and I have done shows together for years, and he has always been incredibly helpful and supportive on my shows, so I wanted to be able to be there to show him love. Then the rest of the week was spent in preparation for a headlining show in Kokomo. It was a very busy week, and then I spent Sunday relaxing, which is the topic of this week’s blog.
You have to find time to relax and recharge. No matter how fun your job is, it’s still a job and you need to take some time off of it so you can get your energy back. I love standup, it’s my favorite thing I’ve ever done and I would love to do it for the rest of my life. But it can still be exhausting. Like Cypress Hill said: it’s a fun job, but it’s still a job. And it goes for anything that takes your time and energy. Hanging with friends, spending time with family, going to work . . . it all takes your energy, and you have to make sure you take time for yourself.
That’s the entire point of this week. Find a hobby, find something to do for yourself, and just have fun with it. Make sure you do something for yourself to cut through the stress of what you do for everyone else. Have fun gang, you’re doing great.
